Online Community Event - HS2 in Focus: The journey of designing HS2 Phase 2a

This webinar discusses some of the key steps HS2 has completed already, those currently underway, and those they need to take to develop and finalise the railway’s design. Once they have this finalised design the main construction work will begin.

This session focuses on:

  • The process of developing a design outline to gain the approval from Parliament to build the new railway.
  • What preparatory work you will see happening over the next few years.
  • How the preparatory work helps to prepare for main construction and inform the development of the railway’s design.
  • The work engineers are doing to develop, assure and finalise the design to enable them to start the railway’s construction.

CAREERS WITH HS2

HS2 launches major recruitment campaign to mark National Apprenticeship Week

HS2 is continuing its commitment to ‘Build the Future’ – the theme for this year’s National Apprenticeship Week – by recruiting more talented individuals to play a part in the construction of Britain’s new high capacity, zero carbon railway.

HS2 Minister Andrew Stephenson announced that there has been a record 825 new apprenticeship starts on the project, with 80 apprenticeship vacancies going live at the start of February 2022.

There will be more to follow in the weeks and months ahead as HS2 and its construction partners seek to expand the 20,000 strong workforce already in place delivering the first two phases of the project from London, through the Midlands and on to Crewe.
