Recycling Collection

Like many councils all over the country, Shropshire Council is facing unprecedented financial pressures.
They must make £63million of savings in 2024/25 and need to make some difficult decisions.
The county council is currently taking consultation of its plans to introduce an annual subscription fee for the collection of garden waste from all properties in Shropshire.
To find out more and to express your views on the matter, please visit www.shropshire.gov.uk/gardenwastebudget2024 .

All householders in the Shropshire Council area can request an additional wheelie bin (at an additional charge) for recycling cans, glass and plastic.

Shropshire Council currently operate a three bin collection service.
The recycling bin (replaced the recycling boxes to make it easier for you to recycle your plastic, cans and glass), has a purple lid to help differentiate it from your other bins, (you need to use your blue sack to recycle paper and cardboard).
The garden waste bin (green) and general rubbish (black) bin are the same as most other councils.
